Basic Information

Critical information infrastructure is the backbone of modern society. With the increasing number and severity of cyber incidents, the demand for protecting key systems is growing. Industrial control systems (ICS) are an integral part of critical infrastructure, yet their security remains insufficiently addressed. Despite ICS becoming frequent targets of cyberattacks in recent years, their protection is still often overlooked in many organizations.

Crisis management and critical infrastructure protection are key to national security, especially in the current geopolitical landscape. Critical infrastructure includes power grids, water supply systems, healthcare services, and communication technologies—fundamental elements essential for society’s functioning. Cyber readiness is crucial for safeguarding these systems against attacks that could have devastating consequences for national security and the economy. Given the increasing threats and geopolitical tensions, the need for effective crisis management and cybersecurity investment is more urgent than ever.

Cybersecurity also plays a crucial role in the Internet of Things (IoT). A network of physical devices—from industrial sensors to household appliances—is increasingly becoming a target for cyber threats. Securing these systems is essential to prevent disruptions in their functionality and protect sensitive data.

A one-day expert conference will focus on current topics in ICS security. It will build on previous events organized under the FFF project, providing a unique forum for partners and participants to discuss key issues, exchange experiences, and explore solutions in ICS and cybersecurity. With the involvement of globally recognized experts, the conference will offer valuable insights and practical approaches to protecting industrial control systems.

Information system protection goes beyond just technological measures. Properly setting up data protection processes, preventing cyber incidents, and being prepared for rapid response are essential. Despite the best precautions, some incidents are inevitable—making it crucial to have effective strategies in place to manage them and minimize their impact.
